There could be some brilliant news for fans of The Big Bang Theory.
According to the cast and showrunner of the hit US sitcom, there’s every chance that it could run beyond season 10, despite persistent rumours that the current run will be the last. The idea that the tenth run would be the finale came after the programme’s boss Steve Malero suggested it would be, although now he has done a bit of a backtrack.
Speaking to TV Line, he said: ‘I’ll keep pushing forward and, as we learn more, we’ll adjust if necessary. If everything keeps going the way it’s been going, absolutely [I’m up for more].’
And the cast are 100% behind the notion of season 11 and beyond.
Jim Parsons said: ‘If the opportunity to go past season 10 came up, I’d be very hard-pressed to tell you who might say no – if anybody would. I wouldn’t. The writers are still so devoted and on top of it. The stories that come out are still so much fun to play – there’s no drudgery aspect to this.
‘I’m trying to imagine when an actor in a good situation would go, “I’m out of here!” I don’t think it would be between seasons 10 and 11 – not if things are going well.’
