Adam Rodriguez replaces Shemar Moore on Criminal Minds

Adam Rodriguez is joining the BAU for the twelfth season of Criminal Minds.

Rodriguez – who will  play a FBI Fugitive Task Force agent in the CBS drama – is set to replace Shemar Moore, whose character left the show in March this year.

Glenn Geller, President of CBS Entertainment, said: “We’re all big fans of Adam’s and are excited to welcome him back to the CBS family as part of the terrific cast of Criminal Minds.

 Rodriguez has had recurring roles in Jane the Virgin, Empire and the Magic Mike franchise. In 2011, the 41-year-old won an ALMA Award for his role as Eric Delko on 11 seasons of CSI: Miami.

Erica Messer, Executive Producer and Showrunner of the acclaimed series, promised exciting storylines for Rodriguez the entire BAU team in the upcoming season.

 “We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Adam Rodriguez to our amazing cast,” she said.

Season 12 of Criminal Minds will return to CBS later this year.
