NCIS Season 14 is set to premiere in less than a month from now, and one of its past main characters may come back.
Actress Cote de Pablo left the show in the early part of Season 11. Many expected that her character, Agent Ziva David, will be making a cameo during her love interest Agent Anthony DiNozzo’s exit from NCIS. Many are expecting a Tony- Ziva reunion since it was revealed they have a daughter. However, all this time, this is unlikely to happen.
CinemaBlend cited an interview with de Pablo where she revealed the reason for her leaving the hit procedural series. The actress said she felt her character was not treated with the respect that Ziva deserved. At the time, de Pablo also stressed that she will only come back if someone can write something fantastic about Ziva.
This means we might not see Tony and Ziva together again in the upcoming season of NCIS.Michael Weatherly, who played DiNozzo, already stated that there would be no problem returning to NCIS for guest appearances.
So whose love triangle has the cast been teasing about? NCIS newcomer Wilmer Valderrama hinted that a love triangle and a pregnancy are coming in NCIS Season 14. Could it be Valderrama who will bring the love triangle storyline in NCIS? When asked about his character, Valderrama described his role as “Complicated. Unpredictable. Pregnant. Love Triangles.” to E! News. The actor, along with actress Jennifer Esposito, will be introduced in the premiere episode of Season 14.
Valderrama (Minority Report and Grey’s Anatomy) will play NCIS Special Agent Nick Torres who disappeared six months ago while undercover. Esposito (Blue Bloods and Mistresses) will portray NCIS special agent Alex Quinn. British actor Duane Henry, on the other hand, will be coming back in episode five. Henry, who plays MI6 officer Clayton Reeves, first appeared in the Season 13 finale of NCIS.
It is a given that no one can replace the charming movie-savvy agent DiNozzo. It remains to be seen what the new characters can bring to the NCIS team.
NCIS Season 14 is set to premiere on September 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
