After much waiting, the folks over at CBS have finally given us a new NCIS season 14 episode 19 promo! Based on what you’re seeing below, all signs point towards “The Wall” being an episode with a strong comedic component to go with all the drama.
If you haven’t heard too much about the drama of this episode, what we can tell you at the moment is simply this: One of the main pushes for the hour is going to revolve around a military veteran (Bruce McGill) finding himself thrown into a new investigation, one that he was not expecting to be a part of at all. He was mostly in Washington so that he could revisit his military past as a part of the Honor Flight Network, a charitable group that looks to help veterans travel to DC to commemorate those they fought with during their time serving the company.
In the end, NCIS is a show about balance, and they do like to make things light at a times as a way to help mitigate and change up the pace of the story. That’s why we’re also going to get a funny little sideplot that is about some sort of rumor regarding Torres and Quinn that McGee and Bishop will take it upon themselves to investigate. Is there a secret love connection? Some sort of embarrassing hobby? Are the two secretly attending science fiction conventions dresses as aliens? All possibilities are out there, and two members of the NCIS family are hot on the case!
The best part of this entire promo may be Gibbs’ reaction to the investigation, as it seems very much obvious that he could not be bothered with this and all and feels as tough everyone has better things to do. He’s probably right … but this is a part of fun! Gibbs can’t take that away for good, right? (Well, the reality here is more that McGee and Bishop will probably continue to do whatever it is that they’re going to do, but they probably just won’t tell him about it all that much in the process.)
