WITH just days to go until The Walking Dead season seven finale, Andrew Lincoln is already hyping season eight and, in turn, accidentally dropped a spoiler about the fate of Rick Grimes.
Confirming that the sheriff will be leading his pack of merry men into the next cycle, Andrew assured that Rick will definitely survive the bloodbath that promises to be the upcoming instalment, titled The First Day of the Rest of Your Life.
“We’re going to come out swinging [in the season seven finale],” he told the Los Angeles Times. “And it’s not going to stop.
“I’m more excited for season eight than I’ve ever been. I think it’s going to be big, but it’s also going to be terrifying.
“And I mean that from the very depths of my cynical soul.”

Though, it seems at least one more hero will perish at the hands of Negan and his bloodthirsty baseball bat before season seven wraps up.
The favourite is undoubtedly Sasha Williams, who was last seen clutching onto a poisonous pill after promising to take her own life while in Negan’s captivity.
What’s more, actress Sonequa Martin-Greene has also signed up to star in the upcoming sci-fi epic Star Trek: Discovery, which fans have speculated throws her future on The Walking Dead into jeopardy.
Fuelling speculation further, Lauren Cohan, who stars as expectant mother Maggie, teasedthe season seven conclusion is “heartbreaking”, while Norman Reedus compared the episode to Braveheart.
“It’s nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it’s nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing this guy,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s completely different than all the other [season finales].
“It has similar elements, but it’s completely different, and, you know, there might be a little William Wallace in it.”
The Walking Dead season 7 finale airs this Monday on FOX UK at 9pm.
