The Walking Dead season 8: Does THIS confirm Michonne is next to be killed off?

Warning: The following article may contain spoilers for season eight and The Walking Dead comic #167.

The television series often follows the same storyline as the comic books, making them a good source for spoilers.

Fans of the graphic novels will know that in issue 165, Andrea (played by Laurie Holden) was bitten on the neck by a walker, died and was killed by Rick (Andrew Lincoln) when she reanimated as a zombie.

While Andrea dying may not seem like a big deal to fans of the television series as she was killed off in season three, it seems her storyline could be given to another character.

In the comic books, Andrea is still alive and well and becomes involved in a serious relationship with Rick when they move to Alexandria.

Her death leaves Rick visibly shaken but, before she passes, she insists that he stay strong and continue to lead the community.

Andrea’s storyline in the comics is very similar to Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) in the AMC series which suggests she could be next to face the chop.

Of course, this is purely speculation as fans will know Michonne is still alive in the graphic novels so Andrea’s fate may fall to another character close to Rick.

It comes after Steven Ogg, who stars as Savior Simon, hinted that he could be killed off in the next series.

Speaking to ScreenRant, the actor teased: “Well, I always say… Look, everyone is going to die, right? Everyone is going to die on the show, at some point.

“So, I sort of take it like, well yeah, it is what it is, when it happens it happens and of course when it does happen I will probably cry and curl up in the feral position and say, ‘Why? Why me?’

“But it’s part of it. Especially in this world, you know that there is limited time on you.”

The Walking Dead is expected to return later this year.
